Moscow assesses the inadequate reaction of Kishinev to the participation of the Russian delegation headed by the Deputy Chairmen of the Government of the Russian Federation, Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Rogozin, in celebrations in Tiraspol on the 9-10 May on the occasion of the 69th year of Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945.

The affirmations regarding the allegedly unilateral nature of this trip are absolutely groundless. Moldova knows well that the meetings in Kishinev have not taken place exclusively because the work schedule of the leaders of the Republic of Moldova was too busy – Russia expressed its readiness to such meetings through diplomatic channels in advance.

We view the action undertaken by Moldavian security forces at Kishinev airport with the luggage of the Russian delegation as illegal. Such actions are contrary to the generally accepted practices and statements by the Moldavian authorities on their constructive disposition in relations with the Russian Federation.

We insist that the official Kishinev stops such unfriendly actions.
