Press release on elections to UN-Habitat Executive Board
The resumed second session of the United Nations Habitat Assembly was held in Nairobi, Kenya, on May 29-30. An interagency delegation from Russia took part in it.
Following elections to the Executive Board, Russia was re-elected to this governing body for 2025-2029 by acclamation.
The Board includes 36 UN Member States and coordinates operational activities of the Programme between sessions of the Assembly which convene once every four years. Since the establishment of UN-Habitat in 1977, Russia has consistently served on its governing bodies making a constructive contribution to its efforts in support of sustainable urban development.
