Press release on Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s working visit to France
On November 11-12, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov made a working visit to France, during which he attended the 2nd Paris Peace Forum and spoke at the Masterclass working session.
The foreign ministers of Russia and France held talks on the sidelines of the forum. They exchanged detailed views on the current issues concerning bilateral and international affairs. Mr Lavrov and Jean-Yves Le Drian discussed the developments in Syria, in particular in the light of the launch of the Constitutional Committee on October 30, 2019 in Geneva.
Particular attention was given to strategic stability, the preservation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (the Iran nuclear programme) and the prospects for a settlement of the crisis in Ukraine.
Mr Lavrov also met with representatives of the French civil society.
