We took note of the information received from the Cypriot side about the causes of the major fire that broke out at the RCSC, the Russian Embassy’s Culture Department in Nicosia, on April 26. We expect to receive the final materials of the official investigation of the incident conducted by the police and the fire service of the Republic of Cyprus.

It is our view that the agencies responsible for investigating such socially dangerous incidents should consider every version. At the very least, this should help them rule out those that involve malicious intent.

The Russian Embassy maintains close contacts with the competent authorities in Cyprus in order to ensure the inviolability and proper protection of our diplomatic facilities in that country.
