Press release on Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov’s meeting with a group of Arab countries’ ambassadors to Russia

On October 20, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister and Special Presidential Representative for the Middle East and Africa Mikhail Bogdanov received a group of the heads of Arab diplomatic missions in Moscow, namely Ambassador of Morocco Abdelkader Lecheheb, Ambassador of Algeria Smail Allaoua, Ambassador of Djibouti Mohamed Kamil, Ambassador of Lebanon Chawki Bou Nassar and Charge d’Affaires ad interim of the League of Arab States’ Mission Malek Mousli.

The diplomats discussed matters concerning preparations for and the holding of an upcoming extraordinary session of the Russian-Arab Cooperation Forum. Both sides reaffirmed their desire to continue strengthening multi-faceted partnership between Russia and Arab countries, including in a collective format.

The participants exchanged views on a number of important Middle East problems with an emphasis on the Syrian settlement.
