Press release on the opening of the Russian Consulate General in Hurghada (Egypt)
On January 22, the Russian Consulate General officially opened in Hurghada, Egypt. The ceremony was attended by the Russian Ambassador to Egypt, representatives of the Egyptian government and Russian nationals living in Egypt.
The Consulate General will significantly simplify the provision of consular services to Russian nationals permanently residing in the area (around 20,000 people) and Russian tourists travelling to Red Sea resorts.
Currently, the Consulate General receives Russian and foreign nationals and handles matters regarding citizenship, notarial services, document legalisation, etc. Passport and visa services will be available soon. The consulate is expected to provide the entire range of consular services, including issuance of passports for Russian nationals and Russian visas for foreigners, starting in late February.
