Press release on Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov’s meeting with Ambassador of South Sudan to Russia Chol Tong Mayay Jang

On November 1, Special Presidential Representative for the Middle East and Africa and Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov received Ambassador of the Republic of South Sudan to Russia Chol Tong Mayay Jang.

During the conversation, the Russian diplomat expressed satisfaction over the settlement of the issue on the reimbursement of the damage to the Nizhnevartovskavia airline for the Mi-8AMT helicopter downed in December 2012 and the payment of compensations to the relatives of the perished crew members.

The diplomats held a detailed exchange of views on the implementation of the agreements on the peaceful settlement of the domestic conflict in South Sudan. They also discussed a number of current issues of the further promotion of Russia-South Sudan cooperation in various areas, including a political dialogue on international and African issues of mutual interest.
