Press release on political consultations between Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko and Permanent Secretary of the Foreign Ministry of Cyprus Tasos Tzionis
On October 14, Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko held political consultations with Permanent Secretary of the Foreign Ministry of the Republic of Cyprus Tasos Tzionis in Moscow.
The officials held in-depth discussions on Russian-Cypriot relations, primarily trade and economic, investment, cultural and humanitarian cooperation. They noted the need for improving the contractual framework of bilateral relations.
Alexander Grushko and Tasos Tzionis exchanged opinions on international topics, including the situation in Syria and the Eastern Mediterranean.
The Russian side reaffirmed Russia’s commitment to a settlement of the Cypriot problem through UN-led talks to be held between the two communities to find a comprehensive, fair and viable solution based on relevant UN Security Council resolutions.
