I share your attitude. We appreciate our mutual interest in developing trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation and interaction in the foreign policy arena.

We congratulate our Japanese neighbours on the well-organised and successful holding of the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Tokyo. Our athletes, coaches, doctors and officials told me that our delegation felt at home there.

Now these major international competitions were followed by a new political campaign. You will soon elect the new President of the Liberal Democratic Party. I hear our former colleagues Fumio Kishida and Taro Kono are taking an active part in this election. Please convey to them my best regards and wishes for success in all their undertakings.
