Press release on a meeting between Russia, China, Pakistan and Iran to discuss the situation in Afghanistan on the sidelines of the SCO and CSTO summits in Dushanbe
On September 16, Russia, China, Pakistan and Iran held a quadripartite meeting on the developments in Afghanistan on the sidelines of the SCO and CSTO summits in Dushanbe. The Russian delegation at the meeting was led by Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
The parties coordinated their approaches to facilitating efforts to ensure peace, stability and security in Afghanistan, and also reaffirmed that a national reconciliation needed to be achieved in the country. At the end of the meeting, the sides approved a joint statement.
