Comment by the Information and Press Department on delivering humanitarian aid to fight the coronavirus pandemic to Afghanistan

A ceremony to deliver Russian humanitarian aid to fight the spread of the novel coronavirus infection to Afghanistan was held at Kabul international airport on June 2.  Afghanistan received a batch of testing kits for 5,000 tests, as well as the agents necessary for preparing samples.

In his remarks, Russian Ambassador to Afghanistan Dmitry Zhirnov pointed out that the COVID-19 pandemic was a major challenge that the international community must fight together.

Deputy Foreign Minister Mirwais Nab and Deputy Minister of Public Health B. Nurmal, who welcomed Russia’s humanitarian aid at the airport, expressed deep gratitude to the Russian Federation for the assistance, and interest in promoting bilateral cooperation.
