On September 19 in Brussels, Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko held consultations with Secretary General of the European External Action Service Helga Schmid.
The parties had an in-depth review of the current state of relations between Russia and the European Union as well as prospects for their improvement. They stressed the importance of maintaining dialogue on the issues of mutual interest amidst growing challenges to global stability.
The Deputy Foreign Minister and the Secretary General exchanged opinions on the most topical international problems, including the future of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action on Iran’s nuclear programme, developments in the Western Balkans, Ukraine and Venezuela.
