Press Release on the Outcomes of the 4th Edition of Singapore International Cyber Week and the Second Round of the Singaporean-Russian Inter-Agency Consultations on International Information Security
On October 1-3, 2019, Singapore hosted the 4th edition of Singapore International Cyber Week (SICW).
The SICW brought together more than 10,000 representatives of government entities, private companies, as well as academia from 60 countries of the world.
The Russian delegation was headed by Ambassador at Large Andrey Krutskikh, Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for International Cooperation in the Field of Information Security. The delegation included experts from the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Internal Affairs, Prosecutor-General’s Office, Federal Security Service, Federal Service for Technical and Export Control, the Bank of Russia, the Centre for International Information Security, Science and Technology Policy of the MGIMO-University of Russia, the National Association of International Information Security, as well as representatives of Russian companies "Sberbank", "Norilsk Nickel", "Rostelecom" and "Group-IB".
The Forum discussed the key issues related to the international information security (IIS), the fight against information crime, as well as possible development of international cooperation in the IIS field, primarily within the UN and ASEAN-centric associations.
As part of the SICW, the ASEAN Ministerial Conference on Cybersecurity was held with the participation of the ASEAN Dialogue Partners, including Russia, during which the ASEAN Cybersecurity Centre was presented.
The second round of the Singaporean-Russian inter-agency consultations on the IIS took place on the margins of the Forum. The Singaporean delegation was headed by David Koh, Chief Executive of the Cyber Security Agency of Singapore. During the event, the parties discussed relevant issues related to the development of bilateral practical cooperation in this field, as well as the interaction and coordination of the positions of our countries within main international platforms.
The head of the Russian delegation was also received by the heads of the key Singaporean ministries and agencies in charge of the IIS, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Communication and Information.
