Press release on the development of anti-drug cooperation with ASEAN
On August 30, the third round of dialogue between the delegations of the ASEAN member states and the representatives of the Russian Interior Ministry and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs took place as part of the 40th meeting of ASEAN Senior Officials on Drug Matters in Siem Reap, the Kingdom of Cambodia.
The parties shared updates on the drug situation in the Asian-Pacific Region and discussed ways to counter the latest forms of drug-related crime, including in cyberspace.
They reaffirmed their readiness to further strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation both at specialised international forums and in the bilateral format.
The next round of the dialogue is scheduled to take place in 2020 in Indonesia, with the host country being the curator of this issue in ASEAN.
Taking into account the talks in Siem Reap, Russia is committed to developing comprehensive cooperation with its ASEAN partners on the anti-drug track, including the implementation of practical joint projects.
