On August 6, at least 13 people were killed and several others were wounded by an explosion in a mosque in Abha, the main city of the Saudi Asir Province.

We express our condolences to the families and loved ones of those killed, and wish a speedy recovery for the wounded.

The explosion in Abha is further evidence of the fact that the wave of terror by extremist organisations is sweeping over the Middle East more and more. It is possible to put an end to this evil only by well-considered joint efforts of the region’s countries and the entire international community. For its part, Russia is ready to provide the necessary assistance to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in combating terrorism.
