On September 19, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov met with Foreign Secretary of the United Kingdom Boris Johnson on the sidelines of the 72nd session of the UN General Assembly in New York.
The foreign ministers discussed prospects for establishing a political dialogue and boosting Russian-British contacts in various areas. The Russian party emphasised the importance of the normalisation of relations through a mutually respectful and equal dialogue based on mutual interests. Mr Lavrov also expressed readiness to make reciprocal steps if the British leadership adjusts its policy towards Russia.
The two officials also exchanged opinions on a range of current international and regional issues.
