Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s opening remarks during talks with Wang Yi, member of the Council of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China, on the sidelines of the SCO Ministerial Council, Bishkek, May 22, 2019
We highly value our relations, especially during this period of growing instability and conflict potential in international affairs. Today we have discussed this in detail at a meeting of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO).
The decisions approved at this meeting will further strengthen the role of the SCO in international affairs, support the supremacy of international law, the UN Charter, and the World Trade Organisation’s regulations. I am confident that the SCO will continue to be at the forefront of the fight for justice around the world. The decisions that contribute to expanding economic and humanitarian cooperation create a very good basis for the success of the SCO summit, to be held here in Bishkek in June.
