On July 11, Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov held consultations with Deputy Foreign Ministers Abbas Araghchi and Majid Takht-Ravanchi of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Tehran.
The parties conducted a detailed evaluation of implementing the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action to resolve the situation around Iran's nuclear programme. They also exchanged opinions on international security issues of mutual interest.
The Russian party underscored Iran’s unfailing compliance with its obligations under the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, as consistently confirmed by the International Atomic Energy Agency. Both parties focused on the importance of preserving the agreement and noted the mechanism’s efficiency in the context of maintaining international and regional security, as well as the nuclear non-proliferation regime. They noted that the compliance of all the participants and involved parties with their obligations guarantees the long-term successful implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action.
