Mr Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China Wang Yi,

Dear friend,

We share in full your assessment of the state of relations between our countries and peoples and between our countries’ leaders personally. We have been actively following up on the decisions taken at the summit in Moscow on July 4 and are working now to ensure their smooth implementation. We have established a mechanism for this purpose, headed by the deputy foreign ministers, who will meet shortly. I am sure that this work will remain closely monitored. Further contacts are on the agenda, including a meeting very soon in Xiamen. We are preparing for the next summit between our leaders and we hope that this will give President of Russia Vladimir Putin and President of China Xi Jinping an opportunity to discuss bilateral relations as well as cooperation on international affairs, with particular emphasis on the subjects you mentioned – the Korean Peninsula and other issues.
