Thank you, Mr Co-Chairman.

Ladies and gentlemen,

First of all, I’d like to thank our Malaysian friends on my own behalf and on behalf of my colleagues for their hospitality and excellent organisation of the meeting. I’d also like to make special mention of the contribution made by Malaysia as the current Chair of ASEAN and coordinator of the Russia-ASEAN Dialogue Partnership to our joint efforts to promote and expand cooperation. ASEAN is Russia’s key partner in the Asia-Pacific Region in many areas, including the formation of an equitable, transparent and open system of inter-state relations for ensuring reliable security and sustainable development in the region.

In 2016, we will mark 20 years since the formation of the Russia-ASEAN dialogue partnership. We have achieved a great deal and plan to move forwards. I am confident that today we will find ways to make our partnership even more effective.

Thank you. I am prepared to discuss other items of our programme.
