Visit of UN Assistant Secretary-General Dmitry Titov to Moscow

PRESS RELEASE

Dmitry Titov, UN Assistant Secretary-General for Rule of Law and Security Institutions at the UN Department of Peacekeeping Operations, visited Moscow from May 30 until June 2.

He was received for conversation by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, by First Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Denisov and by Deputy Foreign Minister Gennady Gatilov. He held a meeting with Deputy Director of the Federal Penitentiary Service (FSIN) Vasily Bolshakov. He had talks at the Ministry of Defense, at the Ministry of Internal Affairs, at the Ministry for Civil Defense, Emergencies and Elimination of Consequences of Natural Disasters, as well as at the Secretariat of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO).

A keen exchange of views took place on various aspects of increasing the efficiency of UN peacekeeping operations, promoting Russia's participation in the UN peacekeeping and peacebuilding activities, building operational cooperation between the UN and the CSTO.
