Press release on consultations among SCO deputy foreign ministers
On January 20, Moscow hosted consultations among SCO deputy foreign ministers, which were also attended by the SCO Secretary-General and the Director of the SCO Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure Executive Committee.
Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov spoke with the heads of delegations before the consultations.
The officials thoroughly discussed the priorities and practical measures to develop cooperation within the SCO on political, security, economic and humanitarian issues. The member states unanimously confirmed their intention to step up joint efforts in the interests of maintaining peace and stability and ensuring welfare and prosperity within the SCO. The participants also stated that the successful expansion of the Organisation, above all the upcoming admission of India and Pakistan as full members, will further enrich the potential of multifaceted cooperation and enhance the international role and prestige of the SCO.
