On December 2-3, Caracas hosted the founding summit of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC), which unites all the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean without exception into a single integration mechanism.

We welcome this landmark step of our Latin American partners, which constitutes another proof of the striving of the peoples and nations of Latin America and the Caribbean towards unity and the consolidation of their identity.

The rise of the new system-forming integration structure proceeds in line with the formation of a polycentric world and the strengthening of the role of regions in the system of global governance, which meets the interests of the entire international community.

Russia, actively cooperating with regional associations in Latin America, is ready to establish mutually beneficial relationships with CELAC, which we believe will serve the development of our countries and peoples.
