PRESS RELEASE

27 March, political consultations of the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia V.G. Titov with the Secretary of State with the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs B. Aurescu took place in Moscow.

There was a detailed exchange of opinions concerning perspectives of development of Russian-Romanian relations on the basis for overcoming the existing problems and the establishment of a positive cooperation agenda. The possibilities of extension of mutually beneficial cooperation in trade, economic, cultural, humanitarian and other fields, strengthening of bilateral contractual and legal basis were considered.

During the discussion of international subject matter, special attention was paid to relations along the lines of Russia – EU, Russia – NATO, problems of European security, including the Euro-ABMs (European anti-ballistic missile system), Transdniestrian settlement, cooperation in the Black Sea region and the situation in the Western Balkans.
