Comment by the Information and Press Department on terrorist attack in Ouagadougou
On August 13, a group of armed individuals attacked visitors of a café in the centre of Ouagadougou, the capital of Burkina Faso. According to local authorities, 17 people were killed and about ten wounded to varying degrees as a result of the terrorist attack.
No Russian citizens were injured, according to preliminary reports.
We resolutely condemn this latest bloody outrage against civilians. Our profound words of sympathy go to the families and friends of the deceased, and we wish a speedy recovery to the injured. We support the efforts of the Government of Burkina Faso in the resolute fight against extremism and terrorism.
