About the 24th meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs and the Ministers of Commerce of the economies that are participants of the APEC forum
On September, 5-6th in Vladivostok the 24th annual meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs and the Ministers of Commerce of the economies that are participants of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation forum (APEC) will take place. It will pass under the presidency of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation S.V. Lavrov and the Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation A.R. Belousov.
The meeting of the ministers will become a key stage of preparation for the meeting of the APEC economy leaders that will take plac on September, 8-9th.
A number of issues connected with the implementation of the priorities for the activities of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation in 2012 offered by Russia will be in the centre of attention during these discussions. They include liberalisation in trade and investment, regional economic integration, strengthening of food security, establishment of reliable transport and logistical chains and intensive interaction for the provision of innovative growth. The traditional problematics of the support of multilateral trading system and the increase of readiness for natural disasters is also included into the APEC agenda.
Following the results of meeting it is planned to approve the Leader Declaration draft and to adopt the Joint Ministerial Statement.
