Press release on Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s working breakfast in honour of Chairman of the Executive Committee and Executive Secretary of the Commonwealth of Independent States Sergey Lebedev
On April 18, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov had a working breakfast in the Foreign Ministry’s Mansion to commemorate the 70th birthday of Chairman of the Executive Committee and Executive Secretary of the Commonwealth of Independent States Sergey Lebedev. The event was attended by ambassadors extraordinary and plenipotentiary from the CIS member states accredited in Russia, as well as the leaders of the executive agencies of the Union State of Russia and Belarus, the Eurasian Economic Union and the Collective Security Treaty Organisation (CSTO).
Sergey Lavrov spoke about Mr Lebedev’s contribution to the development and strengthening of multilateral cooperation and friendship between the CIS member states and of the CIS prestige on the international stage, as well as to enhancing the organisation’s interaction with other regional organisations, such as the EAEU, the CSTO and the SCO, and international organisations, in particular the UN and the OSCE.
Sergey Lavrov congratulated Sergey Lebedev on receiving the Order for Services to the Fatherland 1st Class, the top state decoration of the Russian Federation awarded to him under an executive order signed by President of Russia Vladimir Putin on March 26, 2018.
