Press release on Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s talks with Belgian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Didier Reynders
On February 13, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov had talks with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Kingdom of Belgium Didier Reynders.
The two officials discussed the possibility of boosting Russian-Belgian cooperation with due regard for the agreements reached during Prime Minister Charles Michel’s official visit to Russia between January 29 and 31, 2018.
The foreign ministers exchanged opinions on Russian-EU relations and ways to improve them and pointed out the importance of maintaining a dialogue on a wide range of questions of mutual interest.
They also discussed international matters, including the situation in the Middle East and North Africa, in particular, Syria and Libya. They focused on the need to combat the threats coming from the terrorist groups in the region.
