Press release on a Foreign Ministry Collegium meeting
On September 12, the Foreign Ministry Collegium convened for a meeting to discuss the future of Russia’s policy in the Balkans.
Meeting participants analysed the main aspects of the Foreign Ministry’s efforts to promote national interests in Southeast Europe in the context of the Foreign Policy Concept of the Russian Federation. They held in-depth discussions of the current status and prospects for Russia’s relations with the Balkan states. The focus was on the operation of multilateral mechanisms and on contributions to the work of the central bodies and specialised agencies of the UN, the OSCE and other international organisations, as well as related field presences in the region aimed at post-conflict stabilisation, reconciliation and cooperation.
The results of these discussions were included in the final document adopted at the meeting.
