Press release on Deputy Foreign Minister Grigory Karasin’s meeting with Moldovan Ambassador to Russia Andrei Neguta
On 14 July, State Secretary and Deputy Foreign Minister Grigory Karasin met Moldovan Ambassador to Russia Andrei Neguta.
The parties exchanged views on current bilateral matters.
The officials noted that contacts at a high political level were dynamically developing and that Russia had taken some practical steps to promote bilateral relations.
The parties voiced their concern over existing trends. In particular, this includes the need to ensure Moldova’s compliance with the international procedure in rotating the Russian military stationed in the country.
The talks also covered the joint events to mark the 25th anniversary of the peacekeeping operation on the Dniester River, which a Russian delegation plans to attend.
The officials discussed as a separate issue the status of the negotiations on the Transnistria settlement.
