Comment by the Foreign Ministry Press and Information Department on the North Korean missile test
We consider the North Korean missile test, conducted on February 12, another demonstrative act of ignoring the UN Security Council resolutions on this subject. In this context, we cannot but express our regret and concern.
In this situation, we urge all concerned parties to show restraint and refrain from any action that would further escalate tensions.
We believe that the Korean Peninsula issues, including the nuclear issue, can be resolved only though political and diplomatic means. Peace and stability in the region can be achieved only by rejecting confrontation in favour of efforts to improve the overall military and political situation in Northeast Asia.
