Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC)
Press release on an informal meeting of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs
On September 23, an informal meeting of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC) Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs took place on the sidelines of the 71st UN General Assembly session in New York. It was attended by the heads and representatives of foreign policy agencies of the Organisation’s member states. The Russian delegation was led by Deputy Foreign Minister Gennady Gatilov.
Serbia, which took over the BSEC presidency from Russia in July, reaffirmed the continuity of the Organisation’s priorities. There was an exchange of opinions on current issues related to BSEC activities, including the consolidation of its financial base, enhancing the effectiveness of project activity, developing cooperation between the Black Sea regions of the BSEC member states, and planning events for the Organisation’s 25th anniversary in 2017.
