On June 2, Moscow hosted a meeting of the Troika (“Troika” means the system which consists of the Chairman-in-Office, the previous and the next Chairmen of the BSEC or their representatives) – Russia, Romania and Serbia, respectively ‒ with the participation of Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Vasily Nebenzi and BSEC Secretary General Michael Christidis.

The participants focused on the Russian proposals to enhance the efficiency of the BSEC’s performance, which were submitted at the informal meeting of the BSEC Committee of Senior Officials on April 19-20 of this year.

The sides discussed key aspects of the BSEC’s activities and harmonised draft proposals that will form the foundation of the decisions of the BSEC Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs at their meeting on July 1 of this year in Sochi.
