Moscow Youth International Model Arctic Council (MAC-2016)
Today, February 17, the Moscow Youth International Model Arctic Council (MAC-2016) is to open its work at Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO University).
The conference – devoted to the 20th anniversary of the Arctic Council - is held by the MGIMO University and the International Institute of Energy Policy and Diplomacy (MIEP) MGIMO on February 17-19, 2016.
MAC-2016 is arranged by the MIEP MGIMO Arctic Student Research Club with financial support granted by the Russian Federal Agency on Youth Affairs and the MGIMO Endowment Foundation.
The Moscow Youth International Model Arctic Council expects distinguished experts from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of the Russian Federation, the Federal Service for Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring, the Russian Council for International Affairs, the Ministry of Climate and Environment of Norway etc.
The list of participants includes students of more than 20 Russian universities, as well as young citizens of Canada, the USA, Norway, Denmark and Finland. They all are engaged and interested in various Arctic region issues in the field of International Relations and Law, Social and Economic Development, Environment and profound studies of regional energy resources development.
