1981: graduated from the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO) under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Fluent in English, Italian and Spanish

Held various diplomatic posts in the central office of the Foreign Ministry and abroad

1997-1998: Deputy Director of the Department of European Cooperation

1998-1999: Head of the Foreign Policy Planning Directorate

1999-2001: Director of the Foreign Policy Planning Department

Since 200: Member of the Collegium of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

2001-2004: Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs

2004-2012: Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Italian Republicand Ambassador Non-Resident to the Republic of San Marino

2006-2012: Permanent Representative to the UN Food and Agriculture Organisation and jointly to the UN World Food Programme

Since December 2012: Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs

Holds the diplomatic rank of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary

Awarded the Order of Honour and the Order of Friendship, the Honorary Certificate and the Letter of Gratitude from the President of the Russian Federation, the Honorary Certificate of the Government of the Russian Federation

Recipient of several foreign, departmental and public decorations

Merited Worker of the Diplomatic Service of the Russian Federation

Married, with two sons and two daughters
