Dear friends,

Today we are holding a traditional wreath laying ceremony at the memorial plaques, memorializing our friends and colleagues from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Foreign Trade who gave their lives for our Motherland.

Each year, the Victory Day reminds us about unprecedented exploit of those who laid down their lives on the battle fields of the most terrible war in the history of humanity, who spared no efforts to provide the front with everything necessary, about the exploit of our people.   Full story
 

Ladies and Gentlemen,

During the meeting with my Sudanese colleague A. Karti, we paid main attention to the issues of overcoming of the present dangerous stage in the relations between the Republic of the Sudan and South Sudan. The recent events in Heglig put the inter-Sudanese relations on the edge of a large-scale military infighting and created a real danger of appearance of a new spot of confrontation, constituting the threat to peace and security in the sub-region. This issue causes serious concern of the international community, including the African Union, G8 and the UN Security Council.

We are convinced that there is a basis for cessation of escalation between Khartoum and Juba. This is the statement of the President of UNSC of 12 April current year. It contains requirements to both Sudanese parties, the implementation of which will allow switching the situation onto the track of the negotiation process. Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,

We have very efficiently negotiated with my Moroccan colleague S. El-Othmani. This is his first visit to our country since he has been appointed the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Morocco in January 2012. We are completely satisfied with negotiations.

The Russian-Moroccan relations steadily develop on a solid basis of the Declaration of strategic partnership signed in 2002. A number of economic ties constantly grow. Last year saw the doubled commodity turnover that reached 2 billion dollars. And this is just the beginning. The bilateral relations have a much greater potential. We agreed to use it as much as possible through the tools of the Intergovernmental Committee on Trade and Scientific and Technical Cooperation of the Russian-Moroccan and Russian-Arab business councils.

In February 2012, we signed the Russian-Moroccan agreement on cooperation in military and military and technical areas. It was agreed to strengthen this area of the bilateral interaction.  Full story
