Answer of the Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman A.K. Lukashevich to the question of mass-media regarding one more neo-Nazi action in Estonia
Question: How would you comment upon the recent rally of Estonian Freedom Fighters in Kuressaare?
Answer: The events aimed at glorification of former SS-men and local collabourationists can be interpreted no other way than intentional propagation of pro-Nazi attitude in Estonian society and undisguised jeering at the memory of those, who saved the world from “brown plague” at the expense of their own lives.
Especially outrageous is the fact that the Minister of Defence of Estonia U. Reinsalu participated in such rally. His expression of gratitude to fascism vassals for “saving the honour of Estonian people” is another evidence of mythopoetry of the official Tallinn in relation to World War II events.
There is no excuse for the fact that Estonian authorities, with a help of pseudo-patriotic rhetoric, try to turn the fascism henchmen guilty of numerous crimes into the “national heroes”.
