Russian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs/State Secretary Grigory Karasin Meets with Italian Ambassador to Moscow Vittorio Claudio Surdo

Grigory Karasin, State Secretary and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, received on August 15 the Ambassador of the Italian Republic to Moscow, Vittorio Claudio Surdo, at his request.
During the conversation the Ambassador was informed about the Russian assessments of the situation resulting from the repulsion of the Georgian aggression against South Ossetia. The two also touched on international efforts aimed at preventing such actions by Tbilisi in the future and providing security guarantees for South Ossetia and Abkhazia.
