About the meeting of Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov with heads of diplomatic missions of Latin American and Caribbean States that are accredited in Moscow
On 5 March a meeting of Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov with heads of diplomatic missions of Latin American and Caribbean States (LACS) that are accredited in Moscow was held.
An ambitious and substantial exchange of opinions in issues of the international agenda, the development of a political dialog and practical cooperation between Russia and Latin America was conducted during the meeting. The parties exchanged their assessments of the global situation, the vision of the processes of establishing a polycentric world order and the most topical issues open within the framework of the UN and other international and regional formats.
Special attention was paid to the problems of the reform of the UN Security Council, peace process in Syria, counteracting new challenges, primarily the drug threat - priorities of the Russian Presidency in the Group of Twenty.
They emphasized the need to further develop Russian and Latin American cooperation in the field of high tech, the implementation of joint projects related to industrial cooperation, extension of the mutual visa-free space with LACS countries and the build-up of cultural and humanitarian exchanges.
The meeting was held in a constructive and friendly atmosphere.
